"Show Format

JustVocabulary produces 3 different Audio Vocabulary shows.
If you want to improve your English, you really need to expand your English vocabulary. That is why we introduce slightly more difficult words. All of Just Vocabulary's words are selected from GRE, SAT and TOEFL word lists.
Because usage examples are so important when learning the correct meaning of the word, we give 3 to 5 example sentences for each word, followed by the explanation of the meaning of the word.
Synonyms and Antonyms are also given for all of the words and, if useful, the history of the word.
Because repetition is so important when learning new words, we have review questions and QuickRecaps shows.
Most of the words are from the GRE word list, which makes Just Vocabulary ideal for study purposes.
The show is produced not by a professor or doctor in the English language. The show host is actually formally 'unqualified', but his advantage is that he is a student just like you.

Jan Folmer (1979) is the host of the Just Vocabulary podcast. (Facebook). He lived most of his life in The Netherlands and he moved to Cape Town in South Africa end 2004. The Regular 2-words-a-show!
An award winning podcast format!

Currently JustVocabulary has published 5 volumes, each containing 100 episodes. The 6th Volume containing another 100 episodes is expected soon! Each episode explains 2 words in great detail; many examples are given for each word. Synonyms (*similar words) and antonyms (*opposite meanings) will help the listener to better understand each word and usage. The host also explains how and when to use the word, or how to not use it!
The history (etymology) of the word may be given, especially if it helps to understand or remember the word better. These episodes are 5 minutes each in length – and you can subscribe to these shows for free.
